Moon & Fog

Alizadeh improvises solo on his self-constructed lute (or shurangiz) inspired by the performing style of dotar by the Bakshis (griots from the Khorassan province). In the the first part, Alizadeh's shurangiz is tuned in the forth measure and with metal strings played in the Avaz-e Afshari mode of the Persian music; for the second part, the instrument (with a combination of gut and metal strings), is tuned for the Dastgah-e Homayoun mode.
